Lee Speaks Out: ‘Transgender’ And ‘Rent Boy’

20140423-091913.jpg

If you know me, you maybe surprised that I am involved in this project. Why? I’m a Martial artist and actor who is usually in Action films. I’m portraying two sex workers in’Whore’. One is a ‘Rent Boy’ who has sex with men for money, and the other is ‘Transgender’ who loves sex with men. The characters (I find) are very interesting and EXCITING. My research and preparation for these two fine, well written characters involve finding my raw, dark and sexual side. Thank goodness we have the internet to explore this subject matter. I usually say ‘no’ to these kind of roles but hey: This is directed and written by Melissa Fergusson. She’s a good director and tremendous writer who can bring out the raw truth in front of you. I love that. I won’t give you too many details of my preparation, but I am still learning how to walk in high heels. It’s tricky. My research tells me about the adversity Transgender’s go through and how sex workers are heavily judged in society, “its easy to judge a book by its cover”? This play will be unforgettable.

Project Whore: interview #8

1. What are your thoughts on prostitution?

There is always demand for it.

2. Have you slept with a sex worker before?

No, actually yes. She found me and did it for the pure intent of sexual satisfaction; without any discussion of financial gain.

3. Why or why not?

Because I like sex to be a mutual.

4. What does the word ‘whore’ mean to you?

A male/female who does not have any emotional attachment to sex; and sleeps with numerous people.

5. Do you belief in monogamy?

With the person I’m in love with yes.

6. Have you been solicited to, by a sex worker in the street? Male or female?

Yes

7. Do you think sex work is a choice?

Sometimes yes, but on the whole – no.

8. Are you heterosexual, bisexual or gay?

Straight as an arrow.

9. Are you tempted to pay for sex, if you want to experiment?

Technically when a man is buying the lady drinks, he is investing his time and money for the purpose (to win her over) of having sexual intercourse with her.

On several occasions it would seem easier to invest that money on a prostitute; who needs the money, likes sex and gets paid for it. This result is a win/win for both parties.

It’s a win/lose situation (only) if she has been forced into prostitution.

10. Lastly, do you judge others who visit sex workers regularly?

No. It’s their choice .

Project Whore: interview #5

1. What are your thoughts on prostitution?
While prostitution is generally considered to be one of the oldest professions in the world, it usually is a taboo subject and hardly gets discussed. So, I never got an opportunity to have any thoughts on it. However, I guess that historically it may have started as a profession more out of need than choice, and with all the evolution of marketplace, the need/choice ratio has decreased. With all the discrimination towards people in this industry, their beliefs and aspirations as human beings need attention by societies and governments.

2. Have you slept with a sex worker before?
No

3. Why or why not?
Not part of my thought process.

4. What does the word ‘whore’ mean to you?
While I understand it means a prostitute, the word has a highly negative connotation in society and is sometimes used as an ‘abuse’ term.

5. Do you belief in monogamy?
Yes

6. Have you been solicited to, by a sex worker in the street? Male or female?
No

7. Do you think sex work is a choice?
Not for the majority

8. Are you heterosexual, bisexual or gay?
Heterosexual

9. Are you tempted to pay for sex, if you want to experiment?
No

10. Lastly, do you judge others who visit sex workers regularly?
Yes I do, though I don’t know if I should

I believe it’s one of the oldest professions around like painters.

Yes – but it was not a service nor was it paid for

3. Why or why not?
She was my girlfriend, she was a sex worker when we met at a club and then she stopped.

4. What does the word ‘whore’ mean to you?
In today’s society it usually refers to a woman that has sex with multiple partners, not necessarily in exchange for money and not necessarily at the same time. The term ‘Man-whore’ seems to be used more now than ever.

I do believe

Project Whore: interview #1

1. What are your thoughts on prostitution?

This is service. Husbands, Boyfriends and single men, including women have a common trait – they are greedy. Therefore an additional leg-over during the week is seen as a transaction due to human flaw.

2. Have you slept with a sex worker before?

Yes.

3. Why or why not?

It was available and I was curious.

4. What does the word ‘whore’ mean to you?

This word sounds negative so it would be used to insult. But, it’s a job title for a profession too. For me it is a demeaning word.

5. Do you belief in monogamy?

No

6. Have you been solicited to, by a sex worker in the street? Male or female?

Yes

7. Do you think sex work is a choice?

No, it is all to do with money and greed. They get used to the good money and lifestyle. Trapped by money.

8. Are you heterosexual, bisexual or gay?

Hetrosexual

9. Are you tempted to pay for sex, if you want to experiment?

I was tempted when I was a young man. Now I am happy to have a good dinner and gaze at my partner over the table, as long as the chemistry between us is right.

10. Lastly, do you judge others who visit sex workers regularly?

Not really, how can we judge them when they have a weakness they cannot control or have creature comfort requirements. We are animals after all trapped in a cement city or worse.
